Sanitary Sewer Overflow Reported on November 12, 2020 at 4808 Brewer Place
At 8:20 a.m. November 12, 2020, City crews checking lift stations noticed manhole cover No. 1590 overflowing next to 4808 Brewer Place. Crews found the overflow running into a stream that runs into Seven-Mile Creek. Further investigation revealed the City's main was blocked with grease. City crews cleared the grease from the main, which stopped the overflow at 9:15 a.m. City crews are cleaning the area. Residents are asked to stay out of the creek until E. coli tests come back at limits acceptable by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. Lansing's Water Pollution Control staff have been notified.
