Sanitary Sewer Overflow Reported on April 6, 2020 at 407 Olive Street
At 10:54 a.m. April 6, Water Pollution Control (WPC) was informed of sewage running down the alley going into the storm drain. WPC responded to the call and determined that a clean out was leaking. This had been running down the alley and into storm box #1388. When City crews arrived there was no sewage running down the alley. City crews cleaned the area and put creek-contaminated signs out while E. coli samples were collected. The signs will be removed when it is determined the E. coli levels in the creek are within acceptable limits set by (Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE). The City would ask that residents stay away from the creek water until signs are removed. The affected areas will be from the 300 block of Olive Street to 200 block of Olive Street.
