City Hall closures for Christmas and New Year’s holidays 2024-2025

Leavenworth City offices including the Riverfront Community Center are closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1 for the holidays. City Hall closes at noon on Dec. 24. Trash schedule for these weeks are below. The Riverfront Community Center closes at noon on Dec. 24 and at 5 p.m. Dec. 31.

  • Monday Dec. 23 – Regular trash schedule
  • Tuesday Dec. 24 – Regular trash schedule
  • Wednesday Dec. 25 – no trash pickup
  • Thursday Dec. 26 – Wednesday’s trash will be picked up
  • Friday, Dec. 27 – Thursday’s trash will be picked up
  • Saturday, Dec. 28 – Friday’s trash will be picked up
  •  Monday Dec. 30 – Regular trash schedule
  • Tuesday, Dec. 31 – Regular trash schedule
  • Wednesday Jan. 1 – no trash pickup
  • Thursday, Jan. 2 – Wednesday’s trash will be picked up
  • Friday, Jan. 3 – Thursday’s trash will be picked up
  • Saturday, Jan. 4 – Friday’s trash will be picked up

There will be no large item pickup these two weeks. This service will re-start after the holidays on Friday Jan. 10. We have a limited number of large item pickups, so this is first-come first served. To utilize this service please call 913-682-0650.

Empty boxes will not be picked up if they are left loose on the curb. Residents may break down boxes and put them in the trash cart or tied trash bag, or take them to the Leavenworth Self-Serve Recycling Center at Lawrence and Pennsylvania streets.

The Leavenworth Brush Site, 1803 S. Second, will be open Saturdays 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for residential brush and leaf disposal. There is also a live Christmas tree drop-off offered at no charge to residents. Trees must be real and not artificial and stripped of any decorations. For Christmas tree drop-off, the Brush Site will be open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. the following days: Thursday, Dec. 26, Friday, Dec. 27, Saturday Dec. 28, Tuesday Dec. 31, Thursday Jan. 2, Friday Jan. 3, Saturday Jan. 4, Tuesday Jan. 7, Wednesday Jan. 8.
