Municipal Court Judge

The City of Leavenworth, Kansas is seeking proposals to serve as the Municipal Court Judge.  The position works under the general supervision of the City Manager and performs professional judicial duties by presiding over the municipal court sessions and functioning as a magistrate in the interpretation, application, and enforcement of local ordinances and applicable state laws.

Requires a juris doctorate from an accredited law school and must be licensed to practice law in the State of Kansas; be in good standing with the Kansas Bar; be a U.S. citizen; and possess at least two (2) years’ experience in the practice of law.  Prefer prior experience in municipal court.
