Leavenworth Landing
Leavenworth Landing is a beautiful one-quarter mile linear parkway along the Missouri River in downtown Leavenworth.
301 S. Esplanade Street, Leavenworth, KS
(913) 682-1331
This park commemorates the surface transportation links that made Leavenworth important in the 1850s, including riverboats, railroads, wagon escorts, westward wagon trails and military roads that all went through Leavenworth.
This area is a great spot to watch the trains as they come and go through Leavenworth. There is even a bridge that you can walk under and watch them go over your head. If you love trains, you will like this park.
This is also the entrance to the Three-Mile-Creek Trail, which connects the east end of Leavenworth Landing to the River Walkway all the way to 7th Street in historic downtown. The name Three-Mile-Creek is from the distance from the main flag pole on Fort Leavenworth to the creek in downtown Leavenworth as a means of measurement in the early days of the area.
Amenities include walking/jogging, a sculpture trail, scenic overlooks, benches, picnic tables, bald eagle spotting and ample parking.
